| I don't know if I'll end up talking to myself here and maybe you all hate them but I'm going to start a thread for The Killers.
I've seen them 10 times in concert and I really do believe they are a great live band. They've definitely improved since I first saw them which was the first concert of the 2007 Sam's Town UK tour. I think this is mainly to do with Brandon Flowers becoming more confident (cocky? arrogant?) on stage and also improving his singing a lot.
I was at both nights in the Royal Albert Hall when they filmed their DVD last summer and am also featured on the "behind the scenes" footage being interviewed.
They're on a break at the moment, which is fine because they've been touring non stop for 6 years. I'm intrigued to see what style or influences the next album will have when they finally get round to recording it. I know a lot of people hated Day & Age but I really liked it. I think it has more strength in depth than Hot Fuss (there are 4-5 songs on that album that I regularly skip) but it doesn't come close to reaching the magnificance of Sam's Town which has 5 of my favourite songs ever on it.
So yeah, my favourite album is Sam's Town. My favourite songs are When you were young, Bling, All these things that I've done, Sam's Town and Human.

| Looks like we have a similar taste in music. I'm a fan since I've heard "Mr Brightside" for the first time (still one of my all-time-favorites). I also prefer their second album "Sam's Town", but "Day & Age" is close behind. Saw them live twice in Munich and yes, they've become much better. I think they're more a stadium rock band and their (for me a little bit too perfect and smooth) shows fit better in big venues than in a small club. | |

| i love the killers.
songs like "all the things that i've done" "human" and "all the pretty faces" are one of my fabes. yes, also some of the most known i guess. but they have very strong lyrics. which for me is one of the main reasons to like a band or not.
i saw them live only once. at highfield festival 2008. amazing live performance!
cant wait for them to be back soon. with new stuff maybe? =)

| I really like their songs like "Mr Brightside", "Somebody Told Me", "When You Were Young", "Read MY Mind", "For Reasons Unknown" and also many songs from their B-Side CD "Sawdust". There was cool cover of Joy Division and some very good original songs. | |

| Ha, good to see I'm not the only fan here then.
Shadowplay (the Joy Division cover) is amazing, I agree. Did you hear their cover of "Four Winds" (the Bright Eyes song)? They really turned that song on its head. I really like both versions but I can totally understand why Bright Eyes fans got a bit up in arms about it.
Nobody really knows how long their break is going to be at this stage but I do know that they have some new songs written (or drafted at least) plus they've been talking about doing a covers album for ages. Also, they always release a special Christmas single every year for charity and I think they will continue that tradition, break or no break.

| I totally agree, their cover songs are great! Think of "Girls just wanna have fun" for example. Was "Four Winds" ever published? Or is there a youtube-link you can post please, AreYouAwake? | |

| What do you think about the first single "Crossfire"? Brandon's voice is just great, as always - but I'm still not sure about the new sound. | |

| Brandon's voice sounds brilliant, I agree. Instrumentally it's better than I was expecting, I really thought he was going to go 100% synth but it's nice that there's a guitar solo in there - and I admit, that is my favourite bit. I have a slight problem with the lyrics, I find them rather clichéd and I still can't believe the word "babe" has been used. Sounds like Bon Jovi. Here are some articles about the new album if anyone is interested. http://www.vertigo.fm/neues/neues-detail/article/114682/ http://www.spin.com/articles/brandon-flowers-talks-lonely-solo-album http://www.clashmusic.com/news/brandon-flowers-solo-album-plans http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/17386/121456 | |

| I'm interested - so thanks! Yeah, the lyrics... *sighs* Hopefully it's pure irony and his way of "Las Vegas style" or something like that. Normally I don't get get the idea of going solo and doing the same stuff as with the band, so it's good that the sound of Brandon solo is different and maybe the lyrics are also a kind of differentiation from The Killers. | |

| My copy of Brandon Flowers' Flamingo arrived yesterday! I love it!! I had already listened to all the previews and the live songs and then the full songs when they were on the radio and I already knew I was going to be pleasantly surprised because I was sceptical about a Brandon solo album. The bonus tracks are really strong too. I think Swallow It is the weakest track on the album by a long way. Current top five: Playing with Fire Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Only the Young Jilted Lovers and Broken Hearts Crossfire I've also got tickets to see Brandon in Cologne, Berlin, Madrid, Birmingham and London | |

| haha, molko, so let's go together - I'll take care of you! I'm quite surprised by Brandon's album. Thought I wouldn't like it that much (the short pieces on the internet weren't really convincing for me), but what can I say - I lovelovelove it and have it on heavy rotation the whole weekend. Favorite so far: "Crossfire" and "Only the young". Mr Flowers had his own little radio show yesterday on NRJ where he played some of his favorite music - this man has got taste! | |

| Oh my goodness, I completely forgot to tell you that I met Brandon Flowers!!! Well, when I say met, I mean he came out after a very small concert last week (which I didn't have tickets to but I just decided to pop by on the off chance that he'd come out afterwards and because a few people I knew were going and having drinks afterwards) and although he got mobbed, poor man, I managed to take a picture. He signed a few things for people but didn't pose for any pictures because there were just too many people there. That was the first time I'd "met" him after a gig (I've met the others before) so it was pretty exciting. | |

| Well, I enjoyed Sunday's show in Cologne. Brandon seemed in a weird mood at times (especially at the beginning) and complained about the crowd between the second and third songs. He did however smile and joke with the band on the stage quite a bit. The crowd wasn't amazing but it was kind of to be expected. After all, the album hasn't been out that long. On the other hand, we had the novelty of Brandon swearing twice in the space of 30 seconds. See here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brNY8woaykk I thought Jilted Lovers was fantastic. Even Swallow it improved in the live version. However, Playing with Fire simply blew me away. As expected. My eyes filled with tears and this never happens to me. Ever. I fully expect a complete breakdown at some point this tour. Probably Friday in Berlin. Brandon spent a lot of time at our side of the stage and seemed to be appreciative of the fact that the front row at least was really going for it and singing along to every song. And on a purely superficial note, I liked the outfit very very much. He can wear that again. My photos: https://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=210117&id=591500875&l=9649fac6bb My friend's videos can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/user/spookykate p.s. Yes, I was front row. | |
