PostSubject: The Flowerpot, London, 02.10.10   The Flowerpot, London, 02.10.10 EmptyThu 11 Feb 2010 - 18:17

for their second gig in London, Expatriate was supporting The Joy Formidable, in a bar in Camden Town : The Flowerpot.
I must admit i went there really early (too early!) first because i heard the place would be really busy and that only 200 persons could get in, and also because i thought Expat were playing at 8 (Ben told me so on the Hmv gig lol /nooo ) and they were playing at 9.
Anyway nothing better than a drink to make time goes faster (oh yes maybe watching Ben and Damian getting everything ready lol)
(no no i did not say that //yeah )
so their show started at 9. The place was more little than the borderline (hmv next big thing gig) so we were really close to them, that was very intimidating for me, i was almost acting like a guilty child you know, eyes on the floor not looking at them xD lol but anyway i got used to it a bit.
The show was just amazing! as Ben told me on saturday, it was longuer than the gig in the borderline, 10 minutes longuer, still too short yes but better than nothing.
They finished with "Are you Awake ?", Ben came into the crowd just behind me in love
they talked more during the show than the other night, as they told us it seemed there were more german and australian people in the place knowing them.
the songs were almost the same as the other gig, i'm sorry i'm so bad for this :(
and i talked with Damian after the show, still soooo sweet and nice :)
(i think during the gig he was smiling at me when he saw i was singing the lyrics, but it might be my imagination in love )

great pics to come The Flowerpot, London, 02.10.10 964813

haha so glad it made you laugh that was the aim of it //sure
yes true i'm so affraid to become a dull and irritating groupie you know, so i try not to talk too much to them after the show and stuff but sometimes it's hard (especially when Ben or Damian say "hi" to you on their own xD)

hi julie! it's Nina (the weird girl that randomly started talking to you yetserday). glad you enjoyed the gig. and TJF were good but nothing compared to expat so you didn't miss out on too much ;-) was nice speaking to you and your friend. hope you got home alright?

oh and yes gig was good... loved the setlist! better than the german ones cause i love killer kat and missing on it (even though they did those songs at the berlin show... anyway).

thanks for the tittles of the song i could not get them back in my mind for god's sakes !

Again, what a cool report!! They played "Killer Cat" and "Missing" on both gigs??? Wow, would love to hear those two songs live...
I'm not really a shy person, but I also didn't dare to talk to the guys after the show, so I left immediately after the concert in Munich - and yes, I'm still very annoyed with myself about that.

it seems that many of us has a shyness problem... sad2 I am a BIG shy personn too and I know I will never be able to talk to them freely... that's just above my means and that's terrible sad

Hopefully, internet and forums like this exist and are a great way to bandy and talk freely without any judgement... yay

Good to know, that I'm not alone. yay
I mean, what do you say to them for a start? "Nice show, you're doing really great" and all of that admiring stuff? It's not as you're becoming friends, but you wouldn't like to behave like some kind of crazy groupie or something like that. That's what I think is the main reason for my shyness.

lol yeah i just realised that when you look at it it seems like Ben is falling down but that was just at the end of the song, i think it was at the end of the last song "Are you awake?", he left his guitar and played with the pedals ^^
